KS5587 Portable Wash Rig Introducing A New Portable Wash Rig With A Pulse!

As the maker of the aviation industry's best-built turbine engine wash rigs, Kell-Strom introduces a lightweight, portable wash rig with a built-in pulse cycle that makes remote, professional-quality turbine engine nozzle cleaning in the field a relatively simple process.

Unlike other portable models, Kell-Strom's new rig not only features three NSDA-approved stainless steel tanks -- one for cleaning solution, one for rinsing solution, and a third for compressed air -- but a pulse cycle that comes standard on every unit.

"In order to really clean fuel nozzles properly, the pulse capability is a must for any wash rig. While our competitors make the pulser a relatively expensive option, we've made it standard on our portable rigs. And the unit's price is extremely competitive," explains Kell-Strom's Don Blaise.

  • The portable rig weighs in at just 54 lbs. (dry), excluding the wash and rinse fluids.
  • Each extra-wide mouth tank holds 3 gallons of wash/rinse fluid and is equipped with a quick disconnect filler caps for easy filling.
  • A quick-disconnect control feature allows the user to switch from the compressed air tank to shop air for pulse cleaning.
  • The unit's air and pulsing regulator and gauge can be used to adjust pressure and flow in accordance to engine specifications.
  • Chest handles at each end facilitate easy mobility.
  • The unit can be used on virtually any turbine engine model.

Kell-Strom's Frank Kelly Completes Term as President of the Connecticut Tooling and Manufacturing Association.
Kell-Strom President Frank Kelly recently completed a two year term as President of the Connecticut Tooling and Manufacturing Association (CTMA) - the local chapter of the National Tooling and Machining and Manufacturing Association (NTMA). John Lavieri, President of Sterling Engineering in Winsted will take over the role.

Kelly will, however, remain active as a Trustee representing the chapter at NTMA national meetings.

During Kelly's tenure, CTMA members faced a number of difficult issues, ranging from banking and employee relations, to in-house training and management. On the bright side, CTMA precision manufacturers have been recognized by Connecticut Governor John Rowland as major contributors to the state's economy.

Kelly also plans to maintain an active role in a program designed to alleviate a shortage of skilled labor in Connecticut. The program will be similar to a successful program run by the NTMA's Western Massachusetts chapter.

"I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most dedicated manufacturers in Connecticut and around the nation. I can only hope that I have helped some of my fellow shop owners during my tenure," Kelly said.
